Activity Suspended

Unfortunately, the pandemic and COVID are now impacting the museum.

The Arnold Historical Society is suspending all meetings until Feb. 8, 2021.

The Annual Meeting that is always held in November will be held Sunday afternoon, March 7, 2021.

All fundraising projects are also on hold until 2021.

The museum will remain closed unless an appointment is set up to tour the museum. Otherwise, it will remain closed until Spring 2021 to prevent having to disinfect the many items stored there.

SUCCESS!!! The 2020 Car Show was AMAZING!

With an overcast sky and low humidity, 70 cars came to the Arnold Historical Society show on Saturday, Aug. 8, held at the Arnold VFW Post 2593. The cars were all socially-distances with a space between them and the drivers all wearing masks.

Cars of all ages and models included a 1926 Ford Model T, a ’64 Chevy Corvette, and ’66 Dodge Charger, ’67 Ford Mustang, a 1980 Datsun, a 2015 Mercedes Benz and all makes and models in between. We even a silver ’81 Delorian DMC12.

We had a state rep visit the show: Dan Shaul, as well as two councilmen: E. J. Fleischman and Tim Seidenstricker.

The Car Club trophy went to the Coachmens’ Club.

Participants’ Choice was won by Don Berry with his ’64 Ford Galaxy.

Best of Show went to Chuck O’ Dell with his 1965 Chevy Chevelle.

The weather was awesome, the group had a fantastic time, and we got everyone out before the rains came.

Stay tuned in 2021 for news of next summer’s event!

Annual Meeting Completed!

2019 Annual Meeting

Members and friends gathered Sunday afternoon for their Annual Meeting.  The program featured a video, The Ghost Army,  showing the role that art students played during World War II.  A hand-picked group of American GI’s undertook a bizarre mission to create a traveling road show of deception on the battlefield of Europe, with the Nazi Germany Army as their audience.

Following the video the November meeting was held.

Christmas Open House will be held Saturday, December 7 from 12-4 pm. At the museum.
