The wedding and other antique dresses and veils are now ready for your visit!  In addition to the 10 wedding dresses, we’ve also added a flower girl dress from 1910.

We’re now open Thursday, Friday, and Saturday for visitors.  We’d love to share these great examples of styles through history with you.  A great exhibit for mother-daughters and father-daughters.

More information about the exhibit is here.

Remember that this is a special exhibit, so we are asking $5 from each visitor, and we’ve added a 50/50 raffle.  $1.00 per ticket, or 6 for $5.00.

More Wedding Dresses!

We’ve acquired a few more dresses for our exhibit.  Check out the photos here, and then stop by the museum to see the beautiful details close up.  Check out how necklines, veils, fabrics, bead work, and lace changed as time moved on.

Wedding Dresses thru the Decades will be featured in the Arnold Room in May.  The oldest dress we have is from 1923, and the newest is from 2010.  The dresses reflect changing styles through the decades, including flapper style, shorter veils, trains and no trains.  A photo of the dress and headpiece during its original ceremony will be displayed with the dress.

May is the month when the museum is open Thursday, Friday, and Saturdays, from noon to four, so be sure and stop by to visit us.  On Saturdays, we’ll have punch and cookies as well.

“Folding the Flag” Presentation

Flag Folding

Ever wonder how to properly fold the flag, and why the ceremony is the way it is?  On January 7th, Paul Poitras and Rich Hartsook will fold the flag as Rev. Carlton Norton explains what each step signifies.  Afterward, Paul’s brother, Jack, will play Taps.  Consider bringing your kids to teach them the significance of this ritual and our flag.

The presentation begins at 7 p.m. in the lower level of the new museum, at 1723 Jeffco Blvd.  Monthly meeting will follow.  Everyone welcome.
